Mi chiamo Simone Clementino e attualmente frequento l’ultimo anno di Fashion Design all’ Accademia della moda di Napoli.

Il mio percorso non parte dalla moda, anzi forse non la contemplava neanche, se non come pure forma di ammirazione per il bello. Ho capito che che sarebbe stata la mia strada quando, interrogandomi, mi sono detto: “dove mi vedo nel futuro”? La risposta è stata fulminante. Ad oggi posso dire di non aver scelto questa strada, ma lei che ha scelto me. Il mio percorso all’Academia ha semplicemente colmato le mancanze tecniche che oggettivamente avevo e che continuo a migliorare ogni giorno pedissequamente. In questi anni ho sempre cercato di tirar fuori il meglio di me, a volte anche senza saper effettivamente cosa volessi far emergere; credo però che solo provandoci lo si possa scoprire. Mi sono interrogato, analizzato espresso e interiorizzato, processo che cerco di trasferire nei miei lavori. Mi ha sempre affascinato “il resto”, cioè cosa posso trovare, scoprire e produrre, facendomi contaminare da tutto ciò che mi circonda, arrivando al nuovo. Mi piace particolarmente disegnare, mettere su carta il flusso di pensiero che ne scaturisce è appagante, indipendentemente dallo strumento utilizzato, sia digitale che non. Nell’ultimo periodo ho avuto modo di approfondire le mie conoscenze in ambito modellistico, grazie alla Graduate che mi ha portato a progettare e cucire autonomamente i capi.

My name is Simone Clementino and I am currently attending my last year of Fashion Design at the Naples Fashion Academy.

My path does not start from fashion, indeed perhaps it did not even contemplate it, except as a form of admiration for beauty. I understood that this would be my path when, questioning myself, I said to myself: “where do I see myself in the future”? The response was withering. To this day I can say that I did not choose this path, but it chose me. My path at the Academy simply filled the technical shortcomings that I objectively had and which I continue to slavishly improve every day. In recent years I have always tried to bring out the best in me, sometimes even without actually knowing what I wanted to bring out; However, I believe that you can only find out by trying. I questioned myself, analyzed, expressed and internalized, a process that I try to transfer into my works. I have always been fascinated by “the rest”, that is, what I can find, discover and produce, allowing myself to be contaminated by everything that surrounds me, arriving at the new. I particularly like drawing, putting the resulting flow of thought on paper is satisfying, regardless of the tool used, whether digital or otherwise. In the last period I have had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in the modeling field, thanks to the Graduate which led me to design and sew garments independently.
