Il portfolio si sviluppa con un focus sulle stampe e sui materiali raccogliendo gli highlights di alcuni lavori del secondo e terzo anno del corso di Fashion and Textile design.

Il primo lavoro è una capsule menswear denominata “Generational tribe” che si sviluppa a partire dalla concezione con cui viene vista la nostra generazione all’interno della società odierna, spesso più come un pericolo che come una risorsa e si ispira esteticamente al lavoro di Raf Simons e all’artista Adam Riches.

Il secondo lavoro “Sta-Duom” si sviluppa a partire di quella che io identifico come una duplice identità del mondo calcistico e dello stadio, da un lato l’uniforme e l’abito formale della classe dirigente e dall’altro il casualwear degli hooligans che arriva dalla working class londinese dei 60’s.

I due stili agli antipodi vanno dunque a compenetrarsi in uno nuovo attraverso una collezione womenswear.

Successivamente è collocato il progetto “Solid-Fluid”, womenswear collection che parte dalla contrapposizione tra la materia fluida e quella solida, cercando di contrapporre il bidimensionale al tridimensionale. Partendo dall’upcycling di un capo si sviluppa l’intera collezione che riprende l’uso di stampa contrapposto al drappeggio, tessuti pesanti a leggeri, cercando di enfatizzare il contrasto.

La quarta sezione è una raccolta di disegni e stampe sviluppate per diverse collezioni e con il loro relativo piazzamento su capo come mostrato negli sketch.

La quinta parte racchiude gli highlights del progetto di tesi “Helter Kobayashi”, a partire dalla ricerca iconografica fino ad arrivare ai capi realizzati e allo shooting. Le tematiche fondamentali sono concetti come maschera, brutto e dualismo personale, affiancati a due subculture degli anni 90 come riferimenti estetici, lo street pop di Shibuya e il Dark Goth di LA, ne deriva una nuova subcultura che mixa e reinterpreta le due precedenti in una nuova chiave. Tutto ciò avviene mediante la creazione del personaggio fittizio Helter Kobayashi che sarà soggetto a determinati eventi in funzione di esplicare le tematiche del progetto.

L’ultimo capitolo comprende una serie di illustrazioni, manipolazioni tessili e sketch realizzati durante il mio percorso accademico.

My portfolio is focused on prints and fabrics, divided in different chapters, it contains highlights from my second and third academic year in Fashion and Textile design.

In the first chapter is presented a menswear capsule collection named “Generational Tribe”, the idea is to represent how older people see my generation, through a vision of danger and monsters young people are presented and seen not as a resource but as a danger for the older’s stability.

The collection is inspired by Raf Simons and Adam Riches works.

The second chapter contains a womenswear capsule collection called “Sta-Duom” that is developed from the idea of two souls characterizing football world and the stadium world, on one hand we have the formal uniforms of the upper people that rule the world of football, on the other hand we have the casual took from the Hooligans, the working English class people of the 60’s.

This two stiles are mixed togheter creating a new one.

Then in the third chapter we have the capsule collection “Solid-Fluid”, the process of creation was to apply the contrast between solid and fluid to a single garment and then creating the collection, using draping on heavy wool cloth, or through fluid prints, to be able to express this contrast at his best.

The fourth section is a collection of prints made for different projects, with their placement on the garments made on different sketches.

The fifth chapter is composed by highlights of thesis project, a collection called “Helter Kobayashi”, a fantasy charachter who goes through a series of events that helps to explain concepts like mask, dualism and the conception of ugly in today’s society.

In the project there are two main influences, two subcultures, 90’s street pop from Shibuya and 90’s dark goth from LA that are mixed and interpreted creating a new subculture with new aestetichal codes.

In the last section “Extra works” are presented a series of sketches, illustrations or textile manipulations from my academic projects.
