SERVING THE GAME
Sono Matteo Buttiglieri e sono un fashion designer con una visione creativa radicata nella cultura street, contaminata da arte, estetiche urbane e ricerca materica. Il mio portfolio presenta una selezione di tre progetti che rappresentano i pilastri del mio approccio progettuale: versatilità grafica, coerenza estetica e una narrazione visiva connessa al mondo dello streetwear e della street culture.
Il primo progetto SOCIAL SOCIETY, nasce dalla collaborazione con Berto, azienda leader nella produzione di denim di alta qualità. Ispirandomi all’espressionismo crudo e viscerale di Jean Michel Basquiat, ho lavorato il denim come tela per dare voce a tensioni sociali contemporanee, creando una collezione che mette in dialogo arte e tessuto, memoria e attualità.
Il secondo progetto, DECOSTRUZIONE IN UFFICIO, segna una deviazione intenzionale dalla mia comfort zone. Ho scelto di esplorare il mondo del tailoring femminile in chiave decostruita, lavorando con volumi morbidi e forme più fluide. Anche qui, però, l’impronta street rimane presente, filtrata attraverso un linguaggio più concettuale e architettonico.
Il terzo progetto SERVING THE GAME, infine, è il manifesto più autentico della mia visione creativa. È una collezione di futuristic luxury streetwear nata dal mio vissuto personale nella periferia siciliana di Gela. Attraverso tessuti tecnici, grafiche audaci e silhouette scolpite, racconto una realtà spesso ignorata: quella di chi vive ai margini. È un lavoro che fonde fashion, autobiografia e rivendicazione sociale — dove l’estetica urbana si fa veicolo di identità, orgoglio e resistenza.
I’m Matteo Buttiglieri and I’m a fashion designer with a creative vision rooted in street culture, contaminated by art, urban aesthetics and material research. My portfolio presents a selection of three projects that represent the pillars of my design approach: graphic versatility, aesthetic coherence and a visual narrative connected to the world of streetwear and street culture.
The first SOCIAL SOCIETY project was born from the collaboration with Berto, a leading company in the production of high quality denim. Inspired by the raw and visceral expressionism of Jean-Michel Basquiat, I worked denim as a canvas to give voice to contemporary social tensions, creating a collection that puts art and fabric, memory and current affairs in dialogue.
The second project, DECONSTRUCTION IN THE OFFICE, marks an intentional deviation from my comfort zone. I chose to explore the world of women’s tailoring in a deconstructed key, working with soft volumes and more fluid shapes. Even here, however, the street imprint remains present, filtered through a more conceptual and architectural language.
The third project SERVING THE GAME, finally, is the most authentic manifesto of my creative vision. It is a collection of futuristic luxury streetwear born from my personal experience in the Sicilian suburbs of Gela. Through technical fabrics, bold graphics and sculpted silhouettes, I tell a reality that is often ignored: that of those who live on the margins. It is a work that blends fashion, autobiography and social vindication — where urban aesthetics become a vehicle of identity, pride and resistance.
