“Melting Pot” è un termine che indica un insieme eterogeneo di gruppi, individui, molto diversificati tra loro per ceto, condizione e appartenenza etnica che convivono all’interno della stessa area geografica. Questo progetto è il risultato di un percorso che indaga il connubio di elementi diversi che interagiscono tra loro in un unico oggetto. Il lavoro parte con lo studio del carattere dell’oggetto, attraverso gli archetipi della pelletteria classica, in relazione al carattere dell’individuo, così da conferire un aspetto rigido\morbido. Il processo prosegue con l’idea di inserire oggetti di uso comune che possano strutturare e arricchire il volume e le forme delle borse, ad esempio una
semplice scatola di cartone.
Le scatole raccontano l’ esperienza che hanno dovuto impacchettare i loro averi più cari per trasferirsi in una città che potesse offrire loro un futuro migliore. Il tutto viene arricchito da un mix di oggetti etnici e inusuali, ricordando quell’aspetto giocoso del portachiavi che si appende dappertutto e il concetto del multiculturalismo del “melting pot”.
Il suddetto concetto viene riportato nella progettazione delle scarpe, dove sono state prese parti di varie tipologie di calzatura e poi mescolati insieme per creare una nuova estetica.

“Melting Pot” is a term for a heterogeneous set of groups, individuals, very diverse in class, status and ethnicity living together within the same geographical area.
This project is the result of a journey that investigates the combination of different elements interacting with each other in a single object. The work starts with the study of the character of the object, through the archetypes of classical leather goods, in relation to the character of the individual, so as to give it a rigid\soft appearance. The process continues with the idea of including everyday objects that can structure and enrich the volume and shapes of the bags, for example, a simple cardboard box.
The boxes tell the ‘experience that they had to pack up their most cherished possessions to move to a city that could offer them a better future. This is enhanced by a mix of ethnic and unusual objects, recalling that playful aspect of the keychain that hangs everywhere and the concept of the multiculturalism of the “melting pot.”
The above concept is carried over into the design of the shoes, where parts of various types of footwear were taken and then mixed together to create a new aesthetic.
