ANCESTRAL RHYTHMS

This collection is inspired by an ancient memory from the Lucanian hills, where the Carnival of Tricarico brings its enchantment to life every year. During this event, people and animals merge in an archaic rite, donning masks to represent a Bull and a Cow. This ritual evokes transhumance, an ancestral journey made of sounds, footsteps, cowbells, and moments of silence. The masks, known as “l’Màshkr”, embody the essence of the earth and the rhythm of rural life. 

The procession features powerful and symbolic figures who dance between the sacred and the profane, blending legend with reality. From this vision, a collection emerges that moves gracefully like a herd on the move, with silhouettes as soft as pastures and structures as strong as mountain ridges. Light and textured fabrics overlap like layers of memory, while long ribbons drift through the air, enhancing the gestures, the dance, and the celebration.

Questa collezione prende vita da una memoria antica, custodita tra le colline lucane, dove il Carnevale di Tricarico rinnova ogni anno il suo incantesimo. E’ qui che uomo e animale si fondono in un rito arcaico, mascherati da Toro e Mucca, a rievocare la transumanza: un viaggio ancestrale fatto di suoni, passi, campanacci e silenzi. Le maschere, “l’Màshkr”, portano con sé il respiro della terra e il ritmo del tempo contadino. Un corteo di figure potenti e simboliche, danzanti tra sacro e profano, tra leggenda e realtà. Da questa visione prende forma una collezione che si muove come una mandria in cammino: silhouette morbide come i pascoli e strutture forti come i crinali di montagna. Tessuti leggeri e materici si sovrappongono come strati di memoria, mentre lunghi nastri fluttuano nell’aria, amplificando il gesto, la danza, la celebrazione.
